The "living" areas of the city dwellers also include the borders where natural and human factors intersect. Although these borders are perceived as a dividing line between city dweller and living creatures in nature, there is an unavoidable relationship between these two communities. This project concentrates precisely on this borderline relationship. Concrete is used as an instrument.
Ecotone serves as the conceptual foundation for this innovative project, aimed at redefining urban relationships with water, utilizing the periscope to foster curiosity and facilitate an optical connection with the aquatic environment. Positioned along the Golden Horn estuary and embankment shores, the project addresses the weakened urban-water relationship, equipped with sensors to monitor pollution levels, transforming into singular beacons along the coast at night. Through these interventions, Ecotone strives to redefine urban waterfronts as dynamic, ecologically sensitive zones.
